Representative of GIODO becomes the Chair of the CIS Supervision Coordination Group

On December 11th 2015, the Customs Information System Coordination Group (CIS) meeting was held, during which a guide on the rights of persons whose data is processed in the CIS was adopted, the existing work program of the Group was extended for 2016. At the same time, during the meeting the Deputy Director of the Department of Social Education and International Cooperation of the Bureau of GIODO, who until then was the vice-chairman of the Group, was elected its chairman.

Coordinating Supervision of the Customs Information System (CIS) is a forum enabling the coordination of activities related to the supervision of the Customs Information System between the European Data Protection Supervisor and national data protection authorities pursuant to art. 37 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 515/97 of 13 March 1997 on mutual assistance between the administrative authorities of the Member States and cooperation between the latter and the Commission to ensure the correct application of the law on customs and agricultural matters.
